Scientists have proven that video games do not reduce the well-being of gamers. But there is one condition

Researchers from the University of Oxford have carried out a large-scale study of the impact of video games on the psychophysical state of a person. To do this, they interviewed almost 40,000 gamers, but found no link between gaming and poor health.

It also turned out that video games do not affect life satisfaction among gamers. In particular, they do not worsen the well-being or the emotions experienced. Only the need to sit and play could negatively affect the psycho-emotional state of the players. It doesn’t matter how much gamers play in terms of how they feel, the researchers said. If users played because they liked it, then there was no deterioration.

In the course of the study, scientists offered participants projects of not all genres. For example, there were no MOBA games on the list. The list of projects used only Animal Crossing: New Horizons , Apex Legends , EVE Online , Forza Horizon 4 , Gran Turismo Sport , Outriders and The Crew 2 .

Previously, another team of scientists reported that the sexualization of female characters in games does not harm gamers.
