Poll: every fourth UK plays video games
According to a recent study by VTsIOM, every fourth adult in UK plays video games. The survey was conducted among 1600 respondents over the age of 18. As it turned out, only 5% of users play several times a month and another 5% – at least once every six months.
According to the survey, 23% play several times a week. But 77% of respondents said that they do not often devote time to virtual entertainment. At the same time, the main audience in the games is young people aged 18 to 24 years. As noted, a fifth of the young people surveyed “freeze” in games every day. But among the elderly after 60 years of gamers turned out to be only 10%.
In addition, men play 2.6 times more often than women. In percentage terms, these are 34% and 13%, respectively.
In terms of platforms, the majority of UK gamers prefer desktops and smartphones (44% and 45%). Laptops are used by 16% of respondents, while game consoles and tablets are used by only 5% and 8%, respectively.
The survey also showed that due to the sanctions, gamers started having problems buying new games, paying for subscriptions, and conducting in-game transactions.
