‘Next Cyberpunk’: Starfield writers didn’t believe the game was ready, Jason Schreier said

The news of Starfield ‘s postponement came as a big surprise to most players, but not to Jason Schreier. Immediately after Bethesda’s statement, the journalist wrote that he considered the postponement a good sign.

Last spring just before E3, I spoke to some of the Starfield developers and they were very concerned about the 11-11-22 release announcement due to the progress they were making. (“Next Cyberpunk” is the definition I heard). It’s good that Bethesda delayed the release even after they announced the exact date.

The journalist noted that Starfield is unlikely to repeat the fate of the CD Projekt RED game: “Cyberpunk was postponed not long enough. Here, I hope, will be a different case.

In the comments, Schreier also answered a question about a possible postponement of God of War: Ragnarok . He doesn’t know what Santa Monica Studio’s plans are now, and in general he doesn’t advise to trust any developers until there is a week left before the release.
