Netflix, two new free games available starting now

Netflix today announced the addition of two more titles to its catalog of in-app games, thus expanding a catalog that is starting to be very respectable.

The streaming giant aims to compete with services like Xbox Game Pass , which you can also subscribe to on Amazon , offering more and more titles to try for free .

Recently, Netflix announced Kingdom: The Blood , a mostly single player action rpg that winks at Sekiro (but with zombies), among other things.

So if Netflix’s gamble against video games seems to have been won, apparently the best is yet to come.

As also reported by VentureBeat , the two games recently added are Mahjong Solitaire and the adventure game Before Your Eyes .

Before Your Eyes , in particular, is a narrative adventure title made by GoodbyeWorld Games in 2021, winner of that year’s BAFTAs .

The title launches for the first time on mobile and will use the players’ phone camera for the so-called “blink” mechanics, as opposed to the webcam eye tracking seen in the original version.

Mahjong Solitaire is instead a title inspired by the tile-based game of the same name born in China, available in over 30 languages , including English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish and Spanish.

Netflix’s game selection is now at 26 titles and the company plans to double that number to at least 50 by the end of the year. According to a recent report from Sensor Tower , Netflix’s games have generated over 13 million downloads so far .

And in the future there will be more and more , given that the streaming giant has important conquest plans for 2023 .

After all, Netflix continues to really believe a lot in gaming, to the point of making its own millionaire acquisitions in the market, something that has not gone unnoticed by most.
