Halo is playable, free, in Unreal Engine 5 (thanks to the fans)

Gearshift Media has shared a demo of its fan remake of Halo 3: ODST in Unreal Engine 5, which can be downloaded – and then played – by anyone who wishes. The fluctuating success of Halo Infinite, which can also be played via Xbox Game Pass (you can buy a subscription at a very attractive price), hasn’t deterred Master Chief fans, however.

After all, it is not the first time that Halo touches the powerful graphics engine of Epic Games, as demonstrated with the surprising project known as Fractured.

Now, as also reported by DSO Gaming, the new fan project – entitled Dropzone – seems to be made of an even better dough than the previous ones.

This demo offers a narrative and exploration experience lasting 15-30 minutes and allows you to explore a piece of New Mombasa.

As an ODST, you can simply wander around the settings and soak up the atmosphere of this fan remake inspired by one of the most beloved spin-offs of the franchise.
