Dying Light says goodbye and unveils the Definitive Edition: free upgrade for fans
Techland has decided to officially say goodbye to the support of the first chapter of Dying Light by announcing a big surprise: starting today, the Definitive Edition will be available , the complete edition with 26 DLCs.
The efforts of the developers are now focused exclusively on the long-term support of Dying Light 2 ( you can buy it on offer with fast delivery on Amazon ), but with the latest surprising reveal the team wanted to reward the trust of long-time fans.
After having previously announced the end of support by updating all basic copies to the Enhanced Edition for free , Techland has in fact revealed that it will repeat the same procedure for all fans who have purchased the Platinum Edition .
As reported by PCGamesN , starting today 9 June 2022 all copies of Dying Light Platinum Edition will automatically update to the Definitive Edition , thus also unlocking the latest missing DLCs.
Dying Light Definitive Edition will be available in digital format on all consoles, with the only exception of Nintendo Switch : for the hybrid platform from Nintendo it seems therefore no further upgrade is planned in addition to the Platinum Edition.
The free upgrade will be downloadable for free starting in the next few hours , but Techland has revealed that for all other players it will be available on offer with discounts of up to 70% during the launch period.
Additionally, if players choose to purchase the new edition within the first two weeks, the Harran Tactical Unit Bundle will also be available as a free DLC – a themed set of skins for our armor and equipped weapons.
With this announcement Techland has therefore confirmed the farewell to support for new patches for the first Dying Light , revealing however that they will continue to reroll previous events in the near future.
In the meantime, the development team will continue to work hard on the next content for the second chapter: the update with the first expansion of the story will only be released in the month of September , as a postponement has been necessary.
