Battlefield 2042 killed Mirror’s Edge, along with all the other DICE games
Say goodbye to Mirror’s Edge and any other game SAYS might ever develop, because there won’t be anything unrelated to Battlefield 2042 (and the franchise in general).
After Battlefield 2042 , which you can find on Amazon , DICE did not lose heart and tried everything to revive the fortunes of the shooter.
One of the latest patches had just this purpose, and at the moment it’s hard to tell if the result has been achieved or not.
It’s certainly not a good sign that the developers are leaving Battlefield 2042 to focus on DICE’s new project.
Which doesn’t include anything that doesn’t have the Battlefield name on it, or that is somehow a top-tier shooter.
A very clear mission statement, reported by VGC , which sees the new management intent on pursuing a very specific goal.
The new manager of DICE, Rebecka Coutaz , gave her first interview after taking office, in which she talked about what will be in the future of the company:
“We are focusing only on Battlefield 2042. There is no time for anything else and that is what we want to do. In three years, we want to become the first-person shooter powerhouse that SAYS deserves to be, and that’s what we’re aiming for. “
Despite the failure of the last chapter , Coutaz confirmed that the development team is still working on future updates, as well as all those adjustments and better than the community expects.
And, along with upcoming projects related to the franchise, there is no room for anything that is not connected to the desire to quickly return to being the reference development team for the genre.
On the other hand, more than once Electronic Arts has shown that it absolutely does not want to leave Battlefield behind , with new projects announced long ago .
A publisher who does not hold back when it comes to cutting the projects that do not go: like Knockout City which has also become free .
