AirPods 3 (2021) : release date, price and other rumors
We’ve rounded up all the rumors about Apple’s new generation of wireless headphones
For Apple, 2019 has been a year of updates on its flagship iOS, macOS, iPadOS, and even AirPods.
Indeed, in March 2019, with the release of AirPods 2, Apple intras had been the subject of initial improvements such as their connection speed, the addition of the Siri functionality or even the compatibility with wireless charging.
Then, in October 2019, it was the AirPods Pro that made their surprise entry, bringing with them a new design, superior sound quality and active noise reduction.
Now, after all these twists and turns, the question we ask ourselves is: what can Apple have in store for us for the next release of its headphones? Let’s take stock of what’s new we’d like to see on the new AirPods.
When will the AirPods 3 be released?
According to Ming Chi Kuo, Apple has delayed production of the AirPods 3 in the third quarter this year. This postponement is said to be due to increased competition and a loss of market share. This announcement from Kuo was corroborated by the l0vetodream leaker who posted an encrypted message on his Weibo account that read : “No AirPods in my dream”.
At the end of June, the DigiTimes site had also reported that at least seven of the brand’s suppliers had started the preliminary stages of production. In July, Nikkei Asia indicated that it would be complete in August, to be ready in September, or October.
In the August 1 Power On newsletter, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman predicted that Apple would introduce its new headphones this fall, around the same time as the next iPhones.
As for the AirPods Pro 2, they will certainly be manufactured in the last quarter of 2021, or even the first of 2022.

Apple has just announced its event the “California Streaming” which will take place on September 14, at 19h, French time . This confirms the remarks of Nikkei Asia issued last July. And, it is likely that the future pair of earbuds will be featured alongside the iPhone 13.
