A worthy competitor to The Witcher? First trailer for I, The Inquisitor, a dark medieval game with a non-linear story
Polish studio The Dust has released the first trailer for the dark fantasy adventure I, The Inquisitor . The game is based on the novels by Jacek Piekara about Inquisitor Mordimer Madderdin.
In the world described in the books, Jesus did not die for the sins of mankind—instead, he came down from the cross and drowned evil in his own blood. All subsequent centuries, the order of the inquisitors zealously monitors the observance of God’s laws.
One and a half thousand years after the crucifixion, the inquisitor Mordimer Madderdin goes to the city of Königstein to punish sinners and strengthen faith in God. The hero will have to decide the fate of many people, choosing between justice and faith in the sacred law.
The project has already got a personal page on Steam . Judging by the list of features, players will find a dark non-linear story with difficult moral choices, a lot of investigations with interrogation (and even torture) of suspects, as well as a full-fledged combat system.
For now, I, The Inquisitor has no way out. The game will appear on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
